As part of our vision of supporting community swimming and wellness, we offer free swimming across our five pools for Tauranga Residents living with a permanent disability (physical or intellectual). There are two options available, see below for more information.
This membership provides access (general swim entry only) to swimmers that have a permanent physical or intellectual disability who require a caregiver to safely use the aquatic venues. The caregiver must be in or by the water and available to render immediate assistance to the member should this be required. Both the member and the caregiver swim for free under this membership type. A “Disability Access – Caregiver Required” member may not hold any other paying membership with Bay Venues that allows them to utilise our facilities without a caregiver.
This membership provides access (general swim entry only) to swimmers that have permanent physical or intellectual disability who do not require a caregiver to safely use the aquatic venues. While having a permanent disability, the member can use the aquatic venues safely without a caregiver present. The member swims for free under this membership type. Please note that normal child supervision rules will still apply.
